Apple resists request from the FBI
Apple Inc. has continued to resist requests from the FBI to unlock the iPhone of a suspected terrorist.
Earlier this month the company received a formal request to assist the law enforcement agency in unlocking the device. Apple devices have a security measure which wipes the devices memory if the wrong pass code is entered 10 times.
The request asked for Apple to remove this restriction, and also to develop a software interface that would allow the pass codes to be entered automatically.
Apple rejected the request stating it would set a dangerous precedent, and also compromise the security of all Apple devices.
